So I have some new roommates (again), most of which decades older & “wiser“ than I. They all (mostly) keep saying the same thing in the same tone, and while it’s the first time I’ve heard these claims, it ‘s something I wonder about because I’ve heard it from so many sources.
It’s generally something to the tune that I’ll go far & that I’m destined to do good because I have my whole life in front of me, being as young as I am. I don’t believe them (not out of lack of self-esteem), because even I can’t see the future (that well….) and it just seems like I continue to find myself bombarded by elders who want to feel good by telling me something they think will make me feel good. I’d much rather have these people help move me forward, or show me how (in any retrospect) as opposed to just simply saying “I see great things in your future.”
Idk. Maybe it’s the name? Maybe is normal for old people to make up stories for the younger gen? I mean, Santa & the Boggieman have had a great run. Or maybe I’m just to dense to see what everyone else is trying to tell me is right under my nose.
