I’ve been looking for this particular episode for some time (I’m a HUGE Black Jack fan), and I just some happened to come across Youtube’s recent animation offering. I won’t get into full review mode, but there some things I want to highlight. WARNING!!!*SPOILERS AHEAD*
-Greatest anime crossover to date!!!! It’s like Dr. House meets Superman.
-Yes the dubbing is bad, it was made in the 1980s. Hurts so good, lol.
-Butt-guns?!?!?!
-Black Jack gets the equivalent of his usual fee for any case he offers to help with/gets dragged into.
-Black Jack’s assistant, Pinoko (why they call her Penny is beyond me), looks young, but really is a young adult. Don’t go quoting me (been some time since I’ve gotten an ep. in), but I believe she is 18 in the regular show, so the fact she’s 21 in this Astro Boy episode makes for an interesting paradox in my book.
-Darth Vader breaks the 4th wall?!?!?!
-Black Jack & Pinoko are arguably left in the future. Could this be considered canon for a new Black Series? Mini? Movie? Because I’d be much more intrigued by something like that, as opposed to all these recent remakes…
