Contrary to my aspirations to be a great blogger, I don’t really know how to blog. Hell, up until 6 months ago, I never even knew what a ‘WordPress’ was; let alone how to use it. Yet, as with any hobby, there are protips that you’ll eventually pick up & pass along. The other day my friend asked me for ideas on how to drive more traffic to his blog.
Most modest bloggers’ll tell ya that you just need good content, most profit-driven blog-kats will preach the gospel of SEO. My solution however, is far more entertaining & considerably lazier.
All to often I’ll run into someone who has a BAJILLION questions about my name. What can I say? My name is the greatest pick up line known to modern man. I just give em a business card w/my web addy and tell them to check out my F.A.Q. This isn’t the heaviest traffic booster, but its great at shutting down the curious jackrabbits and the few genuine visitors I do manage, always seem to return occasionally. Which in turn helps me, not because it drives traffic (which it does), but because it gives me a reason to keep at my blog. I know people have a vested interest now.
